SiouxperFest Comedy Festival was founded in 2025, with the first festival taking place in 2026. SiouxperFest takes place each April in Sioux Falls, SD to raise money for SiouxperCon, a local 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting STEM and arts education across the Sioux Empire through their annual fan convention. SiouxperFest Comedy Festival is all about bringing laughs to our community while supporting a great cause!
Comedians of all levels are encouraged to apply for our comedy festival. We’re looking for a wide variety of talent from working professionals to new comics hot on the scene. Submissions are open to all cool comedians over 18; if you're a comedian that's an a-hole, don't apply.
Submitting is simple, fill out the submission form and pay the submission fee.
The SiouxperFest Comedy Festival selection committee determines selections. The committee is made up of members of the SiouxperFest Comedy Festival team, comprised of volunteers from a variety of professional industries - including live entertainment. Every video will be screened, and we look at stage presence, originality, and overall humor.
Please submit a working 3-5-minute video link hosted on YouTube or Vimeo of ORIGINAL material from one consistent set (NO 'BEST OF' CLIPS). Please make sure that your video is public or unlisted. If we can’t access your video, we can’t watch it, and unfortunately, your submission will be disqualified.
The submission entry fee to be considered to perform at SiouxperFest Comedy Festival is $20. That’s right, the entry fees do not go up as the deadline for submissions gets closer.
Entry fees help cover expenses incurred by the festival such as lodging, food, drinks, etc. for the comedians so that proceeds from the festival can be donated to support local charities.
Submissions for the 2026 SiouxperFest Comedy Festival is February 28th, 2026 at 11:59PM CST.
Festival selections will be chosen by the committee in early March, with selected comedians notified mid-March. The lineup will be announced following selection notifications and will be fully announced by the end of March.
SiouxperFest Comedy Festival selects 15-20 comedians for their annual festival, but the chances of participation depend highly on the total number of eligible submissions we receive and the quality of the talent pool.
If selected to perform at SiouxperFest Comedy Festival, comedians will get one or two 10-minute showcase spots depending on the schedules of all the comedians. There may be other opportunities to perform themed shows and mics throughout the weekend.
Not exactly. You will get to give us your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
We try to get the industry to attend and as much as we’d like to say yes, we can’t make any promises. Most likely there will be some regional industry.
YES, the festival will provide lodging for comedians that live more than 2.5 hours away. Lodging may include Airbnb, staying with locals, hotels, etc.
No, all performers are responsible for their own travel expenses.
Sometimes. We'll do our best to provide some food and drinks at the shows. This all is dependent on our partnerships with our sponsors and venues.
No, however, we do book headliners that are paid. These spots are decided by our producers and are very limited, so please don’t contact us about these spots unless you are an agent with a roster of headliners.
Sorry, all submission fees are nonrefundable. If you don't have the financial resources, please save your money and apply another time.
If there is room, then yes. Ticket holders will always have seating priority.

Volunteer At SiouxperFest
Do you enjoy live comedy and hanging out with comedians from all over? We're in need of volunteers to help with ticketing & merch, stage production, set-up, and tear-down. Volunteers get to attend shows for free as long as there is room (ticketed attendees always have priority).
