The South Dakota Ghostbusters

Founded in 2014, SDGB is an official Ghost Corp Franchise. They are a group of Ghostbuster enthusiasts who cosplay and have fun while doing good for their communities. They are available to attend your party or event dressed as Ghostbusters, in exchange for a reasonable donation to a local charity they support. You can even see special appearances by the South Dakota Ectomobile! If you are interested in the paranormal, or have ever seen a spook, specter or ghost–then suit up and join the South Dakota Ghostbusters!

The Great Plains Game Players (GPGP)

The Great Plains Game Players have been around for over 40 years. It was started back in the 1970’s by Jim Lurvey. It has gone through many iterations, but has brought many people into the world of gaming. The GPGP is mostly active in South Dakota, and Iowa, but also has members in Minnesota and Colorado.
Today, the GPGP is less of a gaming group, and more of a group that promotes the hobby of gaming. We host monthly game days in Brookings, South Dakota and Dakota Game Convention every year in July, at the Swiftel Center in Brookings.

South Dakota Writes

We are a non-profit organization created to help encourage and support writers in South Dakota.
It is our goal to offer encouragement to aspiring authors through education workshops and networking opportunities. We also strive to assist published and non-published authors as they continue to build their careers and seek out promotional support.
Through our rich online and face-to-face writing community, we bring attention to local writers on both a local and national scale.
